Second international trip of her tenure.
On Friday morning, Vice President Harris departed from Washington to Singapore. She will also travel to Vietnam this coming week. The goal of the trip is to represent American goals and standards in the region while meeting with foreign dignitaries. This is Vice President Harris’ second international trip. Topics ranging from the COVID-19 pandemic and the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan are expected to be discussed.
The White House stated that Vice President Harris “will continue to work on those issues and be in constant contact with Washington and her colleagues during this trip. At the same time, it is also true that Southeast Asia in the Indo Pacific is really important and that’s why she’s going.” The goal of the trip will ultimately be to build a coalition of allies to act as a counterbalance to the rising prominence of China.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For safety for the vice president on her travels.
